Your track entry covers all sessions on the day. It is up to you which sessions you want to participate in. Sessions depend on numbers - these may be extended, cut short, or canceled on the day.

This event aims to provide maximum seat time and entertainment with various track sessions, catering to every MX5 enthusiast.

Your entry entitles you to enter all the sessions, provided you and your car meet the safety requirements and any passengers in permissible sessions.

‘Top Down Cruise’ - Cruise with your mate! Top down, or top up, any way you like! Drive around Ruapuna and experience the various track layouts! Done in a controlled environment, with speeds limited, so everyone can enjoy cruising laps. Bring your kids, bring your grandparents, sling the top down, and soak up the sunshine (hopefully) and breeze in your hair. 

  • No roll bar required

  • No helmet or overalls required

  • No fire extinguisher (recommended)

  • Seat belts must be worn at all times

  • Speed limited behind the safety car

‘Funkhana’ - You live in New Zealand and know your way around road cones pretty well? The perfect place to show off your skills! Navigate your way through multiple road cone courses, it’ll feel like your driving to the supermarket.

  • No roll bar required

  • No helmet or overalls required

  • No fire extinguisher required (recommended)

  • No passengers during the runs

  • Seat belts must be worn at all times

  • Speed limited between courses

‘Trackday Session’ - Experience Ruapuna at full speed, you get to experience 3 of Ruapuna’s layouts driving your MX5. These sessions require safety gear, please ensure your car is up to regulations before joining this session.

‘Race Car Rides’ - Sit down, strap in, and hold on! Want to experience what it’s like racing an MX5? Come for a ride in a purpose built MX5 Heritage Cup race car, what these lack in power, it makes up for in corners, these cars lap Ruapuna GP Track in under 1min 46sec, regulated in tuning and running a road legal Hankook RS4 control tyre.

$10 per Race Car Passenger wristband, can be purchased prior to the event here. 

Race Car Rides available during Trackday Sessions’ and ‘Top Down Cruise Sessions’ (speed limited)

‘Limbo’ - All about the bragging rights, floor rails? What floor rails! You know the drill, the lowest, badest wins!

  • Please limit speed to a walking pace when driving around the Limbo circuit

‘Hard Park’ - More wax in your hair than on your car? We want to see it, bring it out, and your car. Awards for different categories. Every entry is eligible for prizes for different categories, voting closes at 1:30 pm on the day, and winners are announced in the afternoon.
